About orphan tags: An orphan record means a PIT tag has been detected, recaptured, or recovered,
but the tagging agency hasn’t yet submitted its marking information to PTAGIS. Once the marking file for the tag is loaded into
PTAGIS, the record is updated with its species and marking details, and this page picks that up automatically.
